Taniwha

Lurking in the dark corners of rivers and lakes, you will find protective spirits called 'taniwha' (pronounced "tah-nih-faa"). A rich dark blue-green like the deep winding rivers going through forest areas.

DMC approximation is bluer than 500 on linen and bluer than 501 on evenweaves. Because of the intensity of this colour, it may bleed - if in doubt, pre-wash your fabric before using, and try to avoid washing it after it has been stitched.

This colour works well on all available fabrics, with linen giving the brightest results. Lugana, other evenweaves and Aida give paler (more muted) results.
