Silver Fern

The underside of the leaves of mature specimens of New Zealand's giant tree ferns are a silvery greeny-grey colour. The silver fern is also the plant emblem for NZ, with national sports representatives receiving the honour of this badge. The emblem now reaches all corners of the world as part of the cover design of our passports!

DMC approximation is paler than 928 on linen, and a blend of 3013 and 928 on evenweave.

This colour works well on all available fabrics, with linen giving the brightest results. Lugana, other evenweaves and Aida give paler (more muted) results.
